Words of wisdom from Mr. Ross...

While I would avoid X41T at all costs due to its ridiculously slow and 
essentially-non-upgradeable 1.8"/4200 hard drive, X60T and X61T are splendid 
little machines.

I'm still kicking myself for parting with SXGA+ version of X60T last year...and 
that takes a lot.

If you're a student you should also consider a Tablet PC, such as the  
X40t/X60t/X200t series.  (For clarification: not a "tablet" like the iPad or  
android tablets, but a notebook with a digitizer.)  This is the only kind of  
computer I allow my students to use in class.  I've seen the X61t available  
refurbished for under $600  from dealers who will ship to the UK; this was  
the last Thinkpad tablet to come in a 4:3 screen, and some came with a  
1400x1050 IPS screen.
