Do bear in mind that A3x generation is *very* heavy and has an absolutely 
miserable battery life.

Once again, it is my favourite ThinkPad of all times, and I've owned a high 
three-figure number of them.

But it's old.

Chances of dying screens and GPUs are fairly high on any machine of this 
generation.

They are quite inexpensive nowadays, though.

I still believe that you'd be much better served by a T60/p (or Z61m), or at 
least a T43/p (Z60m)

My $0.02 only...

Yes its long in the tooth but i only need it for a college course to  
do office 2010. 
Hence requiring a tall screen if possible. 
 
I have my main desktop at home for the usual stuff.
