Looking at the price for a genuine battery it is about half the price
a paid for the laptop itself.
Too expensive at £90 from amazon and Lenovo are doing them at £140
Ridiculous.
Why should the cost or perceived value of the main item (your T60) have any
bearing on the value of a consumable accessory? If someone gave you a car
for free, you wouldn't complain that $2.00/gallon is too much to pay for
petrel. It is legitimate to grumble in general about the cost of something,
or (in this case) decide that the marginal extra cost of an official battery
is not worth it to you for the marginal extra quality, but that decision
should not be based on the cost of something else entirely, nor is that a
reason to be dismissive of those who make the different decision. YouTube
has plenty of nice movies of lithium batteries exploding if you want to
understand value from another point of view.
