We service a LOT of companies which use Thinkpads.... Insurance companies... on the road sales... and we buy as many as 300 batteries a year... mostly on eBay from highly rated sellers.
Most suppliers provide excellent batteries if they have an eBay rating of 99.3 or higher. We have had some bad batteries from all of them... Lenovo has actually provided the four bad batteries among many good ones.... but Lenovo were easiest to get replacements. Amazon has been good, but we have had bad batteries from them, as well as Directron, New Egg, and Frys. Our best results have been with the eBay folks with high ratings... over 99.5... but there are not too many of those. The key response is to keep track, and notify you supplier quickly when you have a failure Batteries that sit on the shelf too long, or take physical abuse, or a are stored in hot store rooms for long periods of time... they seem to be more likely to cause trouble.. It is not wise to go to cheaply on eBay... as they discount the aged ones the most, it seems. Lenovo does not make their own batteries, nor does Amazon, Frys or New Egg. The secret is the service after the sale RB On Mon, Oct 10, 2011 at 11:46 AM, Martin N <[email protected]> wrote: > Lo, > > At 19:06 10/10/2011, you wrote: > >> Martin N wrote: >> >>> Lo, >>> >>> I am looking for a battery for the T60 so I can take it to college and >>> swap the battery during >>> a break since the included battery last 2hrs. >>> The course is 3 hours in an evening. >>> >>> I do not want the 9 cell battery as it sticks out and since i am >>> travelling on public transport >>> it would get knocked about a little. >>> >>> But apart from that i cannot really see how to distinguish between the >>> tens of sellers on >>> ebay.
