Too expensive at £90 from amazon and Lenovo are doing them at £140
Ridiculous.

Why should the cost or perceived value of the main item (your T60) have any
bearing on the value of a consumable accessory? If someone gave you a car
for free, you wouldn't complain that $2.00/gallon is too much to pay for
petrel.

I agree, David, though instead of car - petrol, I'd
use car - brakes, or even razor - blades as examples.
There is a tendency among all of us to take the concept of a
bargain to absurd proportions.

That idea doesn't always make sense. Would you buy an old junker of a car for $1100 and then, when it reached the mileage for the timing belt change, take it to the dealer and pay $900 to have them change the timing belt and water pump 'the right way'? Chances are you'd either find a backyard mechanic to do it more cheaply or you'd hold off on the service and take the gamble. Lots of times a person who is buying used or looking for a bargain extrapolates that mindset to all related items. There's nothing wrong with it, they just have to realize that, like the used T60 with no warranty and a risk of system board failure, the cheap battery is at higher risk of failure. It's all about priorities.
