Hello, 170 watts does seem like a lot.
I recently got a 3TB WD External USB 3.0 Drive. I decided to buy a USB 3.0 Expresscard/34 card over at Microcenter. I did a backup of files to the external drive and USB 3.0 is faster. So I may go with this solution. While I was at Microcenter I found two 4G DDR2 SO-DIMM memories that the website said they did not have. So now the T61 has 8GB of memory. The added memory does improve the response of the 3D program when dealing with large models.
