I own three Panasonics for my own use, and have two issued by my employer,
including CF-31 which is the last 4:3 laptop standing in the 16:9 world...

They are splendid machines in their own right, but extremely different from
ThinkPads. I've been using them for years and still have my gripes with some of
their features.

They are a horror to work on.

Build quality is top notch no matter where one went to school, though.

Cheers,

George

I was afraid of such things to come when Big Blue sold off our beloved
Thinkers. Great, for my last two laptop purchases, my employer was urging
me to go with the Panasonic Toughbook because of the nature of my work but I
"stuck to my guns" and my beloved Thinkpads. My reasons for customer
loyalty are getting narrowed down each year it would seem.

This is really going to suck. So that means T500 or lower for a while.

Is they keyboard going to be really cramped and crummy like on Macbooks?

Is this just the X230, or all new ThinkPads? I'm starting to have other

issues

with the X61 (with hacked firmware), like USB acting strange, but

all these quirks make me very hesitant to upgrade (to any brand).

Also remember that the new machines will not have the 7-row keyboard. :-(

probably by June/July. You might want to wait for the newer machines or

possibly the pricing on the old ones will drop.
