I agree, but in respect of menuflex originally I only struggled to get MenuMore working in a custom TiddlyWiki, and due to its limitations, on the way trying also other approaches to be able to switch MainMenus. For comparison reasons I left all remaining menus, like the top menu, sidebar, bottom.. enabled too. In the end I utilized all these MainMenus possible to switch to, by adding most MainMenu creating plugins for showcase reasons.
