The current ribbon is, of course, just a copy of the popular GitHub Ribbon:

https://github.com/blog/273-github-ribbons

TiddlyWiki uses this implementation:

https://github.com/simonwhitaker/github-fork-ribbon-css

My original motivation was to have a "true" fork-me button. As it turned
out, the version number was more useful (when I did experiment with turning
it into a fork ribbon the overwhelming feedback was that it was confusing
for non-developers).

If we're moving towards a "Powered by TiddlyWiki" badge (which I like a
lot), then I think maybe we should move away from the GitHub ribbon look,
and evolve our own, more distinctive badge.

Tumblr has recently started using little rectangular banners that appear
pinned to the bottom right of the window. Perhaps we could explore a
something similar, perhaps with some interaction when the banner is hovered
and clicked.

Best wishes

Jeremy
