If you use Tiddlyserver there are only two real differences to what you're used to: 1. You have to start Tiddlyserver 2. You navigate to, and open, your wikis using the browser instead of your file-system finder/explorer Apart from that, it's a complete replacement and offers other features besides, such as backups. I think you're in danger of seriously over-complicating things in order to avoid the second step. Is there a *really* compelling reason to do so?
