We're kind of going back and forth on what's easiest for the *beginner*. I think you may be over-qualified as a beginner.
Most beginner's instinct will be to connect notes by linking. That's what Wikis are all about, isn't it? In which case they need to understand quickly the consequences of their name choices. Other Wikis they have encountered may offer to change links when a title changes, so this may come as a surprise.
