I have Zim wiki on my Win 7 machine. Don't remember what hoops I had to jump through to make that possible.
The main pluses it has to offer compared to TW is WYSIWYG editing (for basic formatting) and embedded images. There is also a FF extension for clipping articles. It was at the top of my list when considering information management systems. The main thing is that it didn't seem to have the kind of active support that TW has. But since the last time I used it, it's moved its code to github where there are 56 contributors and an update as recent as May.
