Are they not talking about people who have addons like uMatrix installed which will prevent any javascript from being run?
Slant lists are funny. For eg: this lists <https://www.slant.co/topics/4962/~personal-knowledge-base-apps> lists org-mode at the top, while a similar one <https://www.slant.co/topics/4249/~cross-platform-tools-for-personal-knowledge-management> does not even mention them.
