Right. In any case the DEFAULT glyphs in the standard plugin I hope are 
finite in number and (pretty sure to be) in fonts on ALL machines.
Otherwise, as you say, it could become a support nightmare of missing fonts.
With at least some of them on KEYBOARD, so much the better too.

But note I also agree with TonyM that *there is more font support than we 
perhaps realise*.
The PROBLEM is to have a robust method to precisely determine what Unicode 
characters are UNIVERSALLY SUPPORTED.
