Hi, I hava the vncviewer 1.2.0 from 20120313 on my Opensuse 11.4 Linux 32bit home towerstation. I connect to an Opensuse 11.4 server running the tightvnc server. For authentication I use the passwd that was set with vncpasswd.
When I start the viewer on the client side with "java -jar VncViewer.jar", I get the pop-up for the host info which I fill in. Then it establishes a connection and I see nothing for almost 5 minutes. Then at last the pop-up for the password appears. I fill this in and everything works as expected. What could be the reason for this long delay? The security tab is not very clear to me but I tried various choices like de-selecting everything but it all doesn't matter, it stays the same. I also have an opensuse 11.4 64bit distro on my laptop. There I have not such problem, the password box appears instantaneously. Can anyone shed some light on this?
