Since no one has responded, I'll just make a general comment about
this based on my past experience.
Delays on login can be related to reverse DNS lookup. If the
configuration wants to reverse lookup your IP and the DNS is not
working, it will take several minutes to timeout and then it will
login. One test that could tell you if it might be DNS related would
be to ssh into the box through the same network interface and user id.
If the ssh login also behaves the same way, chances are good the
delay is a reverse DNS lookup timeout.
A few solutions are:
- disable reverse lookup in the login configuration (I don't know if
this applicable to tightvnc on Opensuse)
- make sure the host box's DNS lookup isn't pointed to an invalid
source or blocked by a firewall
- get DNS operational on the box in general so that it will rapidly
find a DNS server and either quickly resolve or quickly fail to lookup

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 positioned as A LEADER in The Forrester
Wave(TM): Endpoint Security, Q1 2013 and "remains a good choice" in the
endpoint security space. For insight on selecting the right partner to
tackle endpoint security challenges, access the full report.
