Hi! Is the display showing anything? Like a line of black squares and a blank one?
You could have a look at the data lines of the display to see if anything happens or if they all show the same level all the time. Are the logic lines at roughly 5V or 0V? Or somewhere in between? A picture of the component side of the small pcb could provide clues too.
