Hi Niels:
See my prior post, it's fixed. The small PCB has a header connecting it
to the main iCruze board that's soldered on both boards so it's
difficult to see the component side of the small board. My unit has the
78D05 regulator on the small board near where the wires are soldered to
it and so needs +12 volt input.
Have Fun,

Hi!
According to its datasheet the 8051 used by ko4bb is a 3.3V
part and there is a 3 pin part on fluke's pcb. This ought to
be a 3.3V linear regulator. The regulator should not die
at 6V, so the 8051 behind it should be fine too...
The LCD runs at 5V directly from power supply input.
Some (most?) display controllers show lines of black squares
when powered up and before initialised by a µcontroller.
You don't see anything on the display, so best guess is the
lcd controller (under that black stuff) is fried. :(
A picture of the component side of fluke's pcb might reveal
some other parts too, but i doubt it.
Maybe you can buy another cheap icruze and exchange the new
small pcb?
Hope you hava a nice day anyway!

No, only the back light is on.

Hi!
Is the display showing anything?
Like a line of black squares and a blank one?
You could have a look at the data lines of the display
to see if anything happens or if they all show the same
level all the time.
Are the logic lines at roughly 5V or 0V?
Or somewhere in between?
A picture of the component side of the small pcb could provide
clues too.
Good luck!

Betreff: [time-nuts] iCruze Monitor Dead
Hi:
While updating my web page:
http://www.prc68.com/I/ThunderBolt.shtml#iCruze
The monitor has died. Maybe because the knob on the +5 got bumped to 6
VDC.
Is there any troubleshooting info on it?
