Turn on clockstats in ntpd and collect some data.  Or use your favorite 
terminal program and record the info.

The $GPRMC sentence has an A or V that tells you if the unit is getting a 
good signal.

Other sentences may have some sort of numerical signal quality.  I'd have to 
look it up.  The details are in the data sheet.  If you can't find one, plot 
the position.  My unit wanders around, but it's generally within 50 ft of the 
eyeball average.

I get about 1% bad.  That's indoors, but up high on top of a window.  The 
cable is long enough to reach up there.

A similar height on another window didn't work as well.
