@sraps

Let me barge in in this thread and tell you it is not like that.

We have two different things: the open source, GPL development of a big
project, and paid services around it.

The fact that all the code is free does not mean that the authors are obliged
to offer their services for free, too. It is their right (and I thing they
worth it) to provide services and ask any amount they see fit. See, they have
to get some benefit of their work, or else they wouldn't be interested in it in
the long run.

In the OS world, the rule is that you cannot /demand/ somebody to help you.
Sure, most of the times, you can ask for help and you will get it.
But here, we are talking about service agreements. With the Odoo, Tiny more or
less /guarrantees/ that the site and the modules there will behave right. For a
very low price. And, at the same time, all the Odoo code is let free for
anybody to use. If you wanted them to just receive an avalanche of code and
certify that, it would cross their profit margins.

Conclusion: if somebody has extra code, and you need it to be sure, you have
options: either you pay a retrospective amount to get it certified, or you
support it yourself. If there is no money, you operate the code 'as is', until
somebody in the community devotes time or money to get it fixed. This is a
business opportunity for everybody, IMHO absolutely fair.
