@xrg

I think you have missed the whole point of the topic. This is not the question
whether to service for free or not. This is the question why Tiny creates fake
problems and cripples market.

I have googled the net for any type of certification of OSS software. Tiny is
the only, who requires that.

If extra modules needs to be so certified in order to be sure of reasonable
quality, then why not certify server? There are bunch of problems in
architecture, slowness of code, security, etc. Lot of the problems are several
years old. Yes several years (!!!), the same problems you are dealing now on
Developers topics.

This is the code by Tiny, the certification authority.

So tell me please why then modules are required to be certified, which will run
on a "reasonable quality" uncertified server.

Now technically...

How can Tiny state that the code of certified modules will possible to migrate
automatically, if the certified modules are full of SQL statements, which
probably are not engine independent. At the same time Tiny works on database
abstraction layer for the server.

Modules need to keep up comparable performance with growth of records. At the
same time Certified modules lack simple db indexes (!!!). GTK client has major
problems with widgets over growth of the record count.

We make changes for every installation, so OpenERP can run smoothly.

Maybe somebody has to certify the certification authority?

So what for is the certification?
