Although I did not perhaps explicitly state that I had done my research, I had searched both the forum and the docs for answers and was either unable to find what I was looking for, or was still confused and was looking for clarification.
You are not the only one at that situation. You are surely not the first one to have questions and/or fail to have a quick introduction to the OpenERP world. Remember, however, that we are talking about an big project, an ERP, where "E" stands for Enterprise. It just cannot be a toy, yet we try to make it as easy as possible. I have long stated a list of hints to get going, avoiding hassle: - Don't try that on windows or Ubuntu. Use Linux. A solid OS will let you understand what's going on and customize your ERP cleanly. - Don't use MySQL. It has never been easier to run, nor is it a better db than Postgres. OpenERP is mainly developed around Postgres, so you shouldn't avoid it just because of prejudice. - We have packages (rpms, debs) and a LiveCD! If you just want to see OpenERP in action, don't bother to mess with source, launchpad or lengthy installation instructions. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=55659#55659 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman2/listinfo/tinyerp-users
