@janneman

Nobody says that it (our migration approach) will fit all the cases. It is just
an option, which, BTW fits many installations, as most OpenERP setups do not
handle hundreds of thousand of records.

People just need, what they need, and you can not tell them, that they have to
purchase proprietary scripts, just because they want to upgrade their ERP with
basic modules, to a newer version. Ok, basic modules, are not the limit, the
migration module easily and automatically solves circular references and other
advanced situations, so it is possible to address most of the cases. And I do
not care, that somebody, will not be able to create scenario by himself. Here
comes the service of ours, but we leave an option. If you do not want or do not
feel like creating scenario yourself, you are welcome, we will create one for
you.

But stating that it is not viable or possible to release migration scripts,
just because migration is not a trivial (!!!) task (according to Fabien)...
Well, you know, ERP as a software class, never is trivial in itself. So
obviously it is just an excuse, to force you buy something.

Migration is not an easy task, still if somebody managed to implement OpenERP
in their own company, one will most likely be able to migrate to a newer
version by using our migration tool. This is what I call a freedom - the
freedom to choose.
