David Myers has a new book, Intuition, that has some good stuff. -----Original Message----- From: Paul Smith [mailto:paul.smith@;alverno.edu] Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 9:58 AM To: Teaching in the Psychological Sciences Subject: Re: Need help to find course material
I find the Gilovich text excellent as well. I'd have a hard time deciding between it and Stanovich were I in that position (okay, I actually believe that students should read both <grin>). I should have mentioned before that there is a list of "Recommended Popular Books on Psychology" in the APA's "National Standards for the Teaching of High School Psychology". The list came from separate lists compiled by Charles Morris and John Santrock. For the Standards, I combined the two lists, added a few items of my own, and organized them by the "domains" used in the National Standards document (methods, biopsychological, developmental, cognitive, socioemotional). It includes most of the books mentioned so far in this thread, though it's now a bit out of date, having been compiled in 1997.
