If you folks are at a union school, or have a great bargaining team, you should try to get what we got in our last contract. The union and admin calculated the national average salaries by specialty, e.g., psych, English, etc. Anyone who has received a promotion or merit raise within the last five years (to show they are productive beyond the minimum) gets an additional $1,800 equity raise each year until they reach the national average. After 23 years of low pay, I am finally catching up to what I am worth.
