I think the point of Judy Wilson's message was that she had heard
more than enough about Michael Sylvester, and preferred that we get
back to the teaching of psychology. I couldn't agree more. So I'm
sure Judy won't be looking forward to a new discussion of Michael's
alleged anti-semitism, much less welcome receiving old posts on the
topic. But since Linda raised the issue, I have to point out that
this is yet another issue relating to Michael for which there is no
consensus.

Personally, I don't think any of his posts are anti-semitic. When we
are too quick to make this accusation it trivializes real anti-
semitism. And there is certainly enough of that to go around without
hunting for it in Michael's posts. Let's give this one a rest.
Please.

If we are to discuss anti-semitism, let me ask the list instead to
answer this question. What do you do when a student makes a clearly
intolerant remark in the classroom, say, "All Jews are....." or "All
Moslems are..." [fill in your own example of bigotry--I'm certainly
not going there!]? How do you handle it?
