Once upon a time Mike Thomas shaped the electrons to say... > Is it possible that something has changed slightly with respect to the time > setting in TiVos?
Nothing has changed with the time sync any time recently. > I am running DirecTiVo (so maybe the time is synched differently for me), It is - you get your time from the satellite signal. Standalone units get it on the call home. > but just recently I noticed two shows where recording stopped before the > show ended. Their length (according to the guide) was 1:00 (rather than, > say, 1:03). That happens - almost always it means the network published the running time of the program as 1:00 and not 1:03. Either they extended it at the last minute, too late for the change to propigate, or they never even bothered to publish the longer running time. If the time is published correctly, then the TiVo (and any DVR) will do the right thing and record the longer time. The exception is on units with clipping (I don't think DirecTiVos have that). If you have a lower priority show that runs from 20:00 to 21:03 and a higher priority show from 21:00 to 22:00, and clipping is on, then it will not record the last three minutes of the lower priority show in favor of recording the higher priority one. > Seems like a bit too much of a coincidence given that I have not seen this > problem until about the last week. It was on two different channels - > Seattle local 7 and BBC America. It was probably just a coincidence. Even if the time were off on the TiVo it would not change the run-times of recordings, it would make them start/end early or late. What you have there is incorrect guide data. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.TiVoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
