Be ware that if you extend recordings, any lower priority recording may get clipped by the overlap. It's a new thing from when I got my Series 1 a long time ago, but just make sure you have your shows in the priority list as you want them.
I think there is also an option to turn this on and off, I forget where. It will only allow shows to overlap (clip) if it's turned on. If it's turned off, the conflict will result in the lower priority show not being recorded.
