Thanks for your suggestions MegaZone. I think I will just go with InstantCake for now. I also like the idea of getting HD content off of the air. I think I am shadowed by a hill from our local broadcast towers but it's worth trying. Chris

Buy a new hard drive with the OS installed for around If it has lifetime then it is worth salvaging. If you can handle imaging a new drive yourself then the $20 for Instant Cake is not a big expense. But if the unit doesn't have lifetime, you should probably seriously consider upgrading to the TiVo HD. > $120. Or maybe it's time to get a new Tivo considering I have a new > HD 40" Sony TV. Anyway, I If you go with the TiVo HD, even if you don't subscribe to the HD tier you'd have a dual-tuner DVR that can handle your analog and non-HD digital cable. A couple of S-Card CableCARDs, or a single M-Card, is probably cheaper than the monthly rental on the cable STB & remote. So you might save some money there. And you'd also be able to record free HD content from antenna if you wanted to. -MZ -- ,___ ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
