I am aware of such cases, too, including not-so-young professionals who simply
don't want to deal with all that.
I believe this is a significant issue that is harming collaboration in the IETF
and I wish it was addressed with permanent moderation action and process
changes so to rebuild trust with participants as to their safety in engaging in
IETF discussions.
Note that accusations of corruption were repeatedly made on-list, not only on a
blog, and led to no moderation action beyond warnings. Needless to say, any
moderation action like a warning or a temporary ban that doesn't prevent the
intimidation from reoccurring does nothing to reassure those that are worried
of being targeted in the future.
