Hi Prasanthi,

I do not support registration at a time when there are a lot of open
issues such as FDP, number of cases taken up and volunteering. Why I am
opposed is because the group is unable to reach a consensus on these issues
.... there seems to be a "disparity" on the thought process between the
on-field and off-field members ... more specifically, the on-field members
are currently unable to commit regular time for the group. Family
commitments and work commitments seem to dominate the time that could have
been given to the group. Under such a circumstance, even if you went ahead
and registered the group for whatever benefits it offers, would it make
sense to have a registered group in which there is no structure established
yet?

Shouldn't we be focussing more on establishing structures about how we
are going to manage the resources for cases? By this I don't mean, as
misinterpreted in the past, that we should not take cases. We should take up
cases ... but for every case that comes up or gets done, a new discussion
about where we are going to find volunteers comes up ... can this be taken
care of once and for all? Or atleast ... for each new case, can a fixed
approach be followed where you know how the volunteers come in? This maybe a
poor analogy, but for every new project a company takes up, it may not have
all the employees needed. But, it goes about a structured way of hiring
people, so that the project gets done in a reasonable amount of time without
the CEO having to do night-outs to do bug fixes!

Similarly, for open items like FDP and new streams of cases, the group
is severely divided and procrastination seems to be the only resolution of
the issue. Can we have alternate/faster closure on issues?

If after reading this, you still feel we should go for registration,
that's fine ... but I feel the resolution of these open items, helps the
seamless registration of the group.

Cheers!
Karthik

We, in the sense, most of the active members in Hyd, Blr and US.
Divya opposed. But she is not against Registration. She only worries
that it will make our lives miserable if no other member co-operates
and if I have to take all the burden. She asked us to re-think if it
is the right time to register.

I assume, most of the members are 'in' for registration.

Anyways, I wait for the response from other members as well. More
than a mere response, we have to see who are willing to take up the
roles. If we do not have 12 members in the least, I do not think so
that we can go for a Registration.
