Let me clear few points here: *Samuel Vonumu and his team's experience:*
We frame our opinions based on our experience and exposure. They also supported such families. But they didn't notice any change in the father and so they stopped saying to him that because of him they are not supporting his kids. That shooked them and they begin to realize. For everyone, there is limitation of funds. One has to take decision. We also discuss and look through many angles when we get a case. Everyone has their own guidelines. That is why I said, let us not take this case to Vonumu Foundation. *Funding:* Already our US members are ready to help apart from their monthly contributions. From Ratanji's mail, one of his friends is ready to sponsor Rs. 2000. That is a closed case I think. Help is pledged. *Our thinking (as a group not individuals):* I think that we feel too much on the genuinity of the case or about the family. Every case is different and the background (caste - Yes. I mean caste. Not for any isms but for the facts, surroundings and upbringing) is also different. Take the example of this family. I do not think so that the person is going to be changed and he cares to listen to us. I personally feel to take up tasks where we can accomplish something. If we want to help the family, let us support the woman in all possible ways. Like helping her in taking any training may be beautician course or tailoring or whatever. Provide her the support that she requires. As she is a hard-working woman, based on her interests, support her. May be she can stand on her own. May be children too help her during holidays and in free time. Coming to whether her husband uses such earnings, it is ridiculous. That shouldn't stop us from helping her. (my personal opinion). We can convince the woman to keep minimum cash with her and save the earnings in the name of children in any bank. Instead of trying to change the person and ask him to change the drinking habit, we can spend time on the workable (probability is high) tasks like motivating the woman. *Issue of better use of money:* I do not know why you people talk about it in a superficial way. Instead of doing nothing, it is better we do something (as long as the help is required). If we have any different plans on the better use of money, come up with a proper plan, then we can think of it. Without any project/plan in hand, why to oppose the cases that are on hand, just for the reason that we CAN make better use of money. Only if we start doing things, we gain experience and we can learn from our mistakes. Everyone has vision. That is why I ask, please come up with your ideas and your expections from the group. Then we can collect them all and select the most possible and feasible ones. The ones that we do not take up initially, we will consider for future. I visualize great support from the people and I see an organized co-operation and co-ordination between different groups. I also visualize every citizen of this country coming forward to spend one weekend for the society. -- Thank you. with regards, PRASANTHI. ---- When you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
