Friends, We have around 6k budget for blind students contributed by Kumar Reddy. Also 10k given by USR Murthy from Muscat to be spent on any good activity.
I rang to Kiran this evening. He told that the requirements are: 1. Double Cassette Recorder. He actually bought a Sanyo one for around Rs. 2300 or so recently, not yet opened the package. We can pay money to him and get the receipt. 2. A high quality light which is useful for partial blind people to see things clearly. He says that if we install a good quality light, it will serve for three years if we maintain well and as he goes there almost every week, he can take care of the maintainance part. 3. Audio Voice Recorder for one blind student. He joined two students in TTC Training in Malakpet. He says that voice recorder is very useful for them. 4. He installed 5 computers with CD R/W option. So if we can give CD players also it would be good. These are the 4 options he mentioned. This is a govt. school cum hostel for blind children and it is in the back side of Salarjung Museum. Plan is to go there around 10:30-11 am and return by 12:30 or so. Kiran and friends are contributing food and interested people can stay back to spend more time and to know more about their life. I will leave by 12:30 pm as I have a meeting from 3 pm to 5 pm in Bapu Ghat, Langar House. Whoever wants to see the Bapu Samadhi (where some of his remains are stored) and the serene place, are most welcome to visit this place too. If you have any suggestions from the given points, please share. My choice would be a light as Kumar wants a permanent solution which is useful for most people. The second choice would be a voice recorder. There is another orphanage for blind people near by Harinath's place. Harinath mentioned that he will find the details. Lets see. For now, you can share your opinion on what we can give to Darul Shifa students.
