Friends,

Greetings.

It was a very satisfying meeting. Most of us gathered at the venue
by 11 am. Harinath and Murali were the first to be there at the
Museum. As lines were busy, we couldn't get in touch with Murali.
Satya's friend, Suresh picked me up and we met Harinath and we
directly went to the Hostel cum School. Soon Satya and Ravi joined.
Then Sai Alok, Alok's friend and then Chaitanya and an hour later,
Vani. Satya's sister-in-law Kausi also came and she participated
very actively.

We bought Oranges, Apples and Two types of Biscuits. Sweet, I think,
is prepared by Satya's Mother.

We spent considerable time listening to the Incharge of the School,
Sri Ravi Kumar, who is very frank, open and honest. He has explained
us in detail about the school, the problems and the requirements.

We spent quality time with the children, encouraging them to sing
songs and later to introduce themselves, their name, native place,
standard in which they study and their choice of profession. It was
a real fun.

One kid whose name is Praveen studying LKG replied that there are
few people in his native place and he wants to play with them :)
That is for the question on what he wants to become in his life.
Most of them replied that they haven't yet decided. Most of the
students want to become Teachers (Social Studies (5), Telugu (3),
Maths (2) and English (2), Science (1)) and two wanted to become
Software Engineers.

Kiran of I & Eye Foundation came there around 12 pm with his
friends. They are distributing Lunch to the children.

The requirements as told by the Incharge are:
1. To record the subjects in the Cassettes (pressing need)
2. To teach the software to the children (3 lakhs worth computers
were there but not yet installed)
(Those who were trained were transferred to other schools on
promotion)

The requirements as told by the children are:
1. German Slates and Stylus
2. Computer Games
3. Talking Software

Kiran showed us the Double Cassette Recorder of Sanyo Company the
cost of which is Rs. 2090. We haven't given anything today. We will
decide in the coming weeks. We will close in this month.

Photos and Video was taken by Ravi. He will share with us soon.

All in all it was a very satisfying feeling for me. Not even a
second we got the impression that those are handicapped visually. Of
course they cannot see. But they are very active, lively and got
along with us very well. I could feel the warmth. They invited us to
their function on 4th of January, Birth Centernary Celebrations of
Louis Brailley. The program is from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Would be
great if one of us visit it that day. As we have Charity Together
programme that day, I have to be there all the day.

Thanking all our Hyderabad members and friends of Satya for
attending this activity and making it a memorable one.

Thank you.

with regards,
Prasanthi.
