It's primarily so the package complies with Sun's own rules.

I'm not too certain about this: even when the Sun stock ticker symbol
changed from SUNW to JAVA, no packages were changed to match, and I'd hope
this will stay this way ;-(

Agreed.  On the other hand, it would have been good if a comment like this
had been made earlier in the game, like in the CR ...

I'd prefer to keep SUNWonbld in /opt because it can easily be shared
between different machines that way.
