That's a very good question. It's very likely that neither DAC is better. They are probably just different. You will want to use the pure/direct mode in the receiver to bypass any ADC/DAC double conversions.
The thing that the Touch will provide is much better UI for playing FLAC files than anything the Pioneer can do internally. Plus bonuses like doing sync to other squeezeboxes (you will get hooked and eventually they will be all over your home :) The DAC in the Touch is very good, there is no question about that.
