Nothing wrong with using wireless. If that's what works best for you or
is most convenient, then use it.

The mods discussed here are "audiophile" mods designed for those who
want to get the last little bit of sound quality out of the Touch.

Wireless? Some users report more "hiccups" when playing back over
wireless, especially with hi-res files, and therefore prefer wired.

One of the mods discussed here involves "hacking" the Touch so that the
wireless module is turned off when the Touch boots up. Reason? For those
using ethernet (wired) the wireless is superfluous anyway, and the
wireless module creates some "noise" when it is on that can degrade the
signal (Sound Quality).

How much is SQ degraded? That depends on your ears and your system.
Some users think shutting off the wireless noticeably improves the
sound, others think it makes no difference. YMMV.

If you want to use wireless b/c of personal preference or placement
issues - the mod isn't for you, don't concern yourself with it.
