Sorry to hijack this thread but..

I think you are right, we may not see an updated touch but i do hope
that the market continues to move in this direction though. The
ultimate goal should be to completly remove a traditional pc from the
equation. When i want to watch a film or listen to music, i shouldnt
have to run upstairs to turn my pc on then turn my router on (sorry im
the type that turns stuff off when i leave the house), then wait 5
minutes before i can enjoy my media. I did some long research before i
opted for the touch and discovered that in my price range (sub £500)
the touch is pretty much it. Hopefully the usb drive suggested to me in
another thread (by iphone) should fix my own problems with touch and
tinysbs.

I have seen the sheevaplug, which is a step in the right direction!
