Is the ethernet jack in the wall already connected to something else, or is just the faceplate and jack with no cable running out? If it's just a "placeholder" then part of the job is done. If it's an interior wall and a straight drop down then it should be pretty easy, especially if your wife can deal with the dry wall at the other end :-)
