Maybe clear to you, but not so clear to me. For instance, it's not at all clear to me that you have the correct player selected on SP -- a critical detail you failed to mention. That is a non-issue with foobar, but essential for a network player like SP (and SB).
And sorry, but your conclusion is wrong, inferring the specific troubles you are having to the overall capabilities of the system. Finally, if you haven't heard the Touch as a digital transport into your DAC, you shouldn't be so quick to assume that it is lower quality than your pc soundcard.
