And, in all honesty, there was really not a readily apparent difference. If I'd really worked at it I might've convinced myself that there was a slight improvement in overall SQ with the LC-1's, but it would fall squarely in the "Twilight Zone". "Fanfare" still sounded stellar. I'm still keeping the LC-1's---more as an insurance policy than for anything else.
I am quite content to say that, whatever combination of factors outside the cables that have conspired to come together, I am absolutely delighted with the result. It's only been about 15 months since we got our first Squeeze device (the Duet) and it's been an amazing progression of improvements and a really fun learning process. The current combo of Touch, VBA, VA speakers, etc. is producing truly wonderful sounds in the living room chez rgro! I suspect that I am now at, or at least very near, the endpoint of squeezing (sorry for the pun) the last few % of sound quality from my existing systems. Absent spending some really big money, I'll probably call it good for now.
