I had also bought the Sam Cooke Hi-Res, and like you noticed that a few of the tracks were only 44.1. They told me that that is all the label had for those few tracks and that is why they were not Hi-res. They didn't offer me the 3 free tracks, but maybe more people have complained since I bought it a few weeks ago. Who knows what the "real" story is, but I thought it was a little smarmy to not "at least" tell you up front in the description that the files are not ALL Hi-res. Do they think people won't notice? I mean every playing program tells you the bit rate.
