In the default settings, the FLAC file is sent "as is" to the Touch.
The Touch then _decodes_ the FLAC file to play it. Decoding a FLAC file
includes decompression, but not any decryption, because it's not
encrypted to begin with.

It is possible to set LMS to do the FLAC decoding on the server, and
send for example, a PCM stream to the Touch. That PCM stream does not
need to be decoded on the Touch. The audible benefits of doing this are
debatable. The main disadvantage is that you are sending much more data
over your network because it is decompressed. This extra load usually
isn't a problem if the home network is robust and you're not trying to
serve too many SBs and you don't have a lot of in-house competition for
bandwidth.
