@Mnyb The problem with Equalization is that you usually don't only want
ton reduce the level of a certain range, you also want to be able to
increase it (I think it's what the OP wants. Actuall I believe his
_real_ problem is, as usual, different volume level because the mp3
player will do dynamics compression).
However, if you want to increase the volume for a certain frequency
range you need margin or you will have to do a dynamics compression. In
the analog domain, going too high will always work. It will sound badly
and give you the chance to re-think your choice, but it will work....

Try the equalizer in iPeng and see what happens when you pull everything
up to see what I mean. Although I'm not 100% sure what iOS does there,
iPeng can use 24 bits internally, but I'm not 100% sure iOS does,
although I _know_ it usually outputs at 24 bit width over USB audio,
even if you are listening to 16 bit music so I assume it will convert to
24 bit internally, too. Not that it would make a difference with pulling
balance controls UP....
