Obviously many Touch users, professional reviewers, consumer reviewers, etc... disagree with your conclusion about the Touch. It is quite possible you have EQ'd (possibly over EQ'd) your music to a point that has trained your ears to a particular sound, natural or not. The Touch is often preferred to similar devices costing 5x what the Touch costs, even prefering the Touch's DAC to standalone DAC's costing much more than the Touch itself. If you have "bested" such audio setups costing thousands with a simple EQ'd mp3 player more power to you. ;) A proper comparison would be to apply the same EQ from the same EQ device to all input sources, volume matched accordingly. If you prefer the sound of the EQ'd mp3 player then that is what you should keep, returning the Touch.
