FLAC files are decoded in the player .

PCM files that actually depends on the NAS (cpu ram) if it can transcode
it will be sent as FLAC  .

If you have problems with WAV files , "the NAS can not transcode " FLAC
PCM > Disabled and probaly WAV > Native would make it work .

NB if everything works you don’t need to change anything at all , most
LMS distros adapt these settings to fit the platform , some NAS vendors
for example have different defaults than a full computer install .

And further there is absolutely no point at all transcoding FLAC to WAV
on the server .
