Maybe don't remove the Card access it over the network and add files to it . You should be able to mount the Touch as a drive to your computer .
Once removed Touch has to rescan everything on the card it and this takes time so it will not be aviable for a while , it can not play while it's scanning . So when you insert the card after you have removed it you have to wait .
