Right, it was unknown to me as of then. Currently I haven't had any more serious hiccups. At times the server fails to start, and sometimes it just crashes. But it's been rare and I haven't encountered it during playback. Keeping the SD card loaded and accessing the network share, was the biggest improvement. In terms of usability, at least.
