I travel a lot. My wife is addicted to listening to NPR in the morning, NPR, certain siriusXM news stations, and podcasts in the early evening. She picks up the controller out of the dock, chooses a favorite, and it all just "comes on" (the amp is audio-sensing auto on). In the many years we've been using this daily she's not had to call me for help. Perhaps we've been lucky. And spotify works well in my system (Triode!!). The issues I've had have mostly been self created (and happen when I decide to update Vortexbox, change my router, etc. Otherwise it has been trouble free. I've even got an 86 year old neighbor that I gave a Boom to for her to listen to internet radio from her home country. I setup favorites for her, connected to mysb.com for her, and have never had to help her with it again. It just works! (albeit, she listens mostly to two different free internet streams!).
This said, nothing against SONOS. I wish Logitech had spent the marketing budget that SONOS spends (I see ads for them everywhere it seems). And a friend from a different city who loved my setup recently emailed me and said, "I'm ready to set up a multi room system in my house for listening to stuff, mainly internet radio, spotify, etc. for us and the teenager kids" Unfortunately, I recommended SONOS. First, squeezboxes can't be purchased in any direct way from the company.
