The problem with many who fall into the scientific camp is that they disregard what their senses tell them because their are no measurements that can support their observations. No measurement has to mean that there is no difference, when in fact the issue is that the measuring methodology is flawed. My comments were about *-my-* perceptions, not yours or anyone else, and I resent my comments being used to further some ongoing agenda. I have heard differences in FLAC playback compared to WAV in other people's systems, yet I consistently fail to hear these differences in my own audio system. My conclusion is that either my system is not good enough to highlight the differences, or that I make sure that playback devices in my system are set up properly with regard to drivers etc, and that there are no audible differences. It's surprising what a computer OS can do by way of affecting audio replay, and it's vital to have the appropriate drivers for audio devices in the system. On a similar vein, I use and swear by Foobar as a media player, and install it on any computer I use to play music on. I have trialled JRiver, and could hear no audible difference between using it and Foobar, so when the trial period ended I removed JRiver, as I didn't see the point in paying for a license for a product that in audio terms only gave me no more than that I'd been using for free all along. Yet some folk insist that JRiver is better sounding, and to be honest I can't be bothered saying otherwise. Life's too short.
